Hayward Tyler awarded pump contract for ITER fusion project

Hayward Tyler Inc and its sister company Energy Steel have been awarded multi-million greenback contracts to assist the ITER venture in France.

The ITER challenge is a joint worldwide research and improvement project to show the scientific and technical feasibility of fusion power. The demonstration facility is under construction in St-Paul-lez-Durance in France, and will be the largest fusion experimental reactor in the world.
Hayward Tyler’s booster pumps shall be an integral part of the drying system for the Tokamak Cooling Water System (TCWS). The pumps shall be designed, built and tested at Hayward Tyler Inc in Colchester, Vermont, USA.
Hayward Tyler and Energy Steel are both part of the Engineered Pumps and Motors Division of Avingtrans plc.
