Former cop from UAE allegedly set vehicles on fire in Koh Samui

Value from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) allegedly set vehicles on fireplace in Koh Samui. The suspect, 40 year old Muajib Ali Salim Saleh Alkarbi, allegedly set hearth to a BMW, and a Toyota sedan parked near vacant land in Koh Samui’s Taling Ngam sub-district at round 1.35am on Thursday, March 2.
Koh Samui Police said CCTV footage appeared to indicate Alkarbi riding on a motorcycle and setting fireplace to the cars. Koh Samui Provincial Court issued an arrest warrant for Alkarbi on Friday, March 3. Cinch mentioned on Saturday that they’d arrested Alkarbi.
The police mentioned the cars that Alkarbi set on fireplace had belonged to a person only identified as Anan. They mentioned that Alkarbi and Anan had been working collectively in a second-hand automotive enterprise before having a conflict with one another.
The police said that Alkarbi purchased a bike and travelled to Koh Pha Ngan before he committed the assault, Naewna reported. Alkarbi then pretended to remain in Koh Pha Ngan by booking a hotel there, the police said. However, Alkarbi then travelled to Koh Samui to commit the assault.
Alkarbi faces expenses of committing arson and has reportedly denied the charges. He is reportedly trying to fight the costs legally.
This information comes only a week after one other arson assault in Thailand.
On Monday, February 27, a blaze broke out on a lesser-known Pattaya seaside mostly utilized by fishermen to store their gear and sell their catches. The blaze burned a few of the fishermen’s tools and instruments. Luckily, no one was injured..
