Amarinth has accomplished a US$1.5 million order from Armada Madura for six API 610 VS4 vertical pumps for a new FPSO being constructed for India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC).

Two of the six API 610 VS4 pumps are pour point depressant pumps that are 18m in size and the other 4 are methanol raise pumps which are 10m long.
Extra of the pumps have PT100 temperature sensors which were designed and built along the length of the pumps to observe the temperature of each bearing individually.
The 18m lengthy pumps incorporate a supporting system of brackets that Amarinth has designed which attaches every pump to its tank throughout installation ensuring that as the pump is lowered into the tank it stays perfectly aligned, decreasing vibration and wear during operation.
Once assembled, the pumps had been independently witness tested and authorized by DNV at Amarinth’s facility in Rendlesham, UK. The pumps have been then disassembled into 3m segments and shipped to Singapore where the FPSO (floating manufacturing storage and offloading unit) is being constructed.
The pump delivery and installation needed to align with the FPSO construct schedule. Because of the length of the pumps, they needed to be put in into the vessel’s tanks by way of the deck before another deck above the pumps could be constructed. The first section was completed successfully over the Christmas interval with Amarinth’s Engineering Commissioning staff supporting the customer with the installation and commissioning.
The FPSO might be positioned within the KG-DWN 98/2 subject, approximately 22 km off the east coast of Kakinada, India. The vessel is designed to produce up to 90 000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and have a 1.3-million-barrel storage facility. It shall be outfitted to handle the monsoon circumstances prevalent at the field.
